While Lafayette Jefferson's win against Clinton Prairie wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bronchos won by a run and slipped past the Gophers 9-8. The victory continues a trend for the Bronchos in their matchups with the Gophers: they've now won four in a row.

Ahni Harper was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Maya Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Lafayette Jefferson's record now sits at 12-8. As for Clinton Prairie, they moved to 14-5 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Lafayette Jefferson will look to defend their home field on Thursday against North Newton at 6:30 p.m. The Bronchos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Clinton Prairie, they are taking a road trip to challenge Rossville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
