Soccer Game Preview: Capistrano Valley vs. San Juan Hills

The Capistrano Valley Cougars will face off against the San Juan Hills Stallions at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Capistrano Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Capistrano Valley managed to keep up with San Clemente until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Capistrano Valley lost 4-1 to San Clemente. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Tritons are ranked 66th).

Meanwhile, San Juan Hills waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 4-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Stallions were the better team in the second half.

San Juan Hills' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four games. As for Capistrano Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6-3.
