Baseball Game Preview: La Junta Tigers vs. Forest Grove Vikings

The La Junta Tigers will challenge the Forest Grove Vikings at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Forest Grove took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on La Junta, who comes in off a win.

La Junta will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Saturday, then bounced right back against Shadow Mountain on Thursday. La Junta was the clear victors by a 21-5 margin over Shadow Mountain.

Gavin Denahy was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Tony Rodriguez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Forest Grove came up short against Niwot on Thursday, falling 13-6. The loss was the Vikings' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Forest Grove fell to 2-1. As for La Junta, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
