Softball Recap: Ketchikan Finds Playoff Glory Versus Delta

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ketchikan walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Delta Huskies on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Kings, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Rylea Armstrong was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Mariah Pechay-Austin was another key player, earning four runs and two stolen bases.

Ketchikan's win bumped their record up to 16-18-2. As for Delta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Ketchikan will challenge Kenai Central at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Kings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Kardinals have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. Delta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
