Football Game Preview: Auburndale Eagles vs. Pacelli Cardinals

The Auburndale Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Pacelli Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Auburndale's defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so Pacelli's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Auburndale played against Rosholt on Friday and won via forfeit.

Pacelli will bounce into Friday's game after beating Iola-Scandinavia, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cardinals walked away with a 27-20 win over the Thunderbirds on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cardinals as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Pacelli's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Auburndale, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Everything came up roses for Auburndale against Pacelli when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 43-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
