Softball Recap: Weatherford Eagles vs. Purcell Dragons
Weatherford had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Purcell Dragons a 5-0 shutout on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
The team relied heavily on Harlie Chism, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Karsen McPherson, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Weatherford's victory bumped their record up to 33-2. As for Purcell, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 28-11 record.
As of now, neither Weatherford nor Purcell have any future games scheduled.
