Basketball Game Preview: Homer Pelicans vs. Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers

The Homer Pelicans will square off against the Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jonesboro-Hodge took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Homer, who comes in off a win.

Last Monday, Homer humbled Lincoln Prep with a 54-20 victory. Given the Pelicans' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Panthers are ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Jonesboro-Hodge came up short against Ringgold on Tuesday and fell 38-28. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Homer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for Jonesboro-Hodge, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.

Homer strolled past Jonesboro-Hodge in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 49-34. Does Homer have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jonesboro-Hodge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
