Basketball Recap: Perham Drops Highest Score of Season Against Park Rapids

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Perham). They blew past the Park Rapids Panthers 85-55 on Friday. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Panthers are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Perham was led to victory by Regan Hemberger and Kaia Anderson. Hemberger went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and three steals, while Anderson went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on her way to 25 points. The matchup was Anderson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cora Grismer, who posted ten points along with six assists and four steals.

Perham was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Perham is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points per game. As for Park Rapids, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Perham will host Crookston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Park Rapids has already played their next match (against Mahnomen/Waubun), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
