Volleyball Recap: Shawnee Mission West Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Shawnee Mission East Lancers. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Lancers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Shawnee Mission West was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Shawnee Mission East work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-20, 27-25.

Shawnee Mission West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-2. As for Shawnee Mission East, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Shawnee Mission West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Olathe North on the 27th. As for Shawnee Mission East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Shawnee Mission South on the 27th.
