Baseball Recap: Forest Hill Finds Home Field Redemption Against Provine

There's no place like home for Forest Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Provine Rams by a score of 5-2 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-3 last Tuesday.

Khadarius Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Forest Hill is 3-1 when Johnson allowsone or fewer hits, but 0-4 otherwise. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Keidon Patrick, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that Patrick hit this season. Another was Aaron Fell, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Forest Hill's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Provine, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Forest Hill will head out to challenge Callaway at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Provine, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Hazlehurst at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
