Softball Recap: Shawnee Wins Going Away Against Northeastern

Shawnee won the last time they faced Northeastern and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Shawnee Braves blew past the Northeastern Jets 20-1. That's two games straight that the Braves have won by exactly 19 runs.

Alee Trimmer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Trimmer was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Maura Simpson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Raelynn Botkin, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2.

Shawnee's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shawnee will take on Greeneview at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Northeastern, they will challenge Riverside at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
