West Brunswick waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their defense stepped up to hand the Whiteville Wolfpack a 2-0 shutout. While West Brunswick didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-14-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Henry Phillips and Eli Granade scored both of West Brunswick's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

West Brunswick's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Whiteville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1.
