Basketball Game Preview: La Veta Redhawks vs. Wiley Panthers

The La Veta Redhawks will take on the Wiley Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. La Veta has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

La Veta is headed into the match having just posted their biggest win since January 9th on Tuesday. They blew past Aguilar 63-36.

Tristan Musgrave was his usual excellent self, going 10-for-18 en route to 22 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isiah Rodriguez, who went 7-for-16 on his way to 20 points.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Wiley's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were beaten by McClave 62-34. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd in Colorado, while the Cardinals are ranked 65th in Colorado).

La Veta's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. As for Wiley, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
