Basketball Recap: Williamstown Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ritchie County last Wednesday, Williamstown came back down to earth. The Williamstown Yellowjackets fell just short of the Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights by a score of 54-51 on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Maroon Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Williamstown's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wheeling Central Catholic beat Williamstown by a score of 54-51 on Wednesday.
