Baseball Recap: Chambersburg Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Chambersburg and Mifflin County had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Trojans fell 4-1 to the Huskies on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost three in a row.

Chambersburg got a good showing from J Pyne, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Pyne has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, E Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Chambersburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Mifflin County, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Chambersburg will be playing at home against Hempfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mifflin County, they will square off against State College at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
