Baseball Game Preview: St. John's Cadets vs. Paul VI Panthers

For the second straight game, St. John will face off against Paul VI. The Cadets will challenge the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. John's will be looking to extend their current 19-game winning streak.

St. John's is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Paul VI by a score of 5-2.

For Paul VI's part, Matthew Roussey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs over 5.1 innings pitched. What's more, Roussey gave up only zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Paul VI saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Peltier, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

With the defeat, Paul VI broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 25-7. As for St. John's, their victory bumped their record up to 29-1.
