Basketball Recap: Lakota East Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Lakota East won the last time they faced Oak Hills and things went their way on Friday too. The Lakota East Thunderhawks rang in the new year with a 41-34 victory over the Oak Hills Highlanders. The win was nothing new for the Thunderhawks as they're now sitting on four straight.

Leading Lakota East to victory were Bella Sturgill and Brooke Asher. Sturgill dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 boards, while Asher went 5 of 9 on her way to 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Sturgill a new career-high in blocks (two).

Lakota East is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Oak Hills, they moved to 7-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Lakota East will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Sycamore at 7:30 p.m. Sycamore is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season. As for Oak Hills, they will head out to challenge Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
