Recap: East Rowan Mustangs vs. Northwest Cabarrus Trojans
The East Rowan Mustangs lost against the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. East Rowan was outmatched by Northwest Cabarrus at home and fell 73-33. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Rowan in their matchups with Northwest Cabarrus: they've now lost four in a row.
East Rowan's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drake Jones, who scored ten points.
Northwest Cabarrus got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ezekiel Brown out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Brown scored 15 or more points. Anderson Lee was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
East Rowan's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Carson the next time they take the court. Northwest Cabarrus will head out to face Carson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while East Rowan will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
