Basketball Recap: Hobgood Charter Comes Up Short

Hobgood Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mattamuskeet Lakers. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lakers earlier this season, when they won 54-38.

Hobgood Charter's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Mattamuskeet, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

Hobgood Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-48 victory against Cape Hatteras on the 13th. As for Mattamuskeet, they will take on Ocracoke at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Ocracoke's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Mattamuskeet has been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
