Richard Goods commands the offense for a Whirlies win

Recap: Grimsley Whirlies vs. Northwest Guilford Vikings

The Grimsley Whirlies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 80-54 margin over Northwest Guilford. Considering Grimsley has won three contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Grimsley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Richard Goods, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Goods' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Keith, who scored 17 points along with six assists.

Grimsley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30 points. As for Northwest Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Grimsley will be home for the holidays to greet Page at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Page's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. As for Northwest Guilford, they will head out on the road to face off against West Forsyth at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. West Forsyth is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
