League recap: Foresthill extends winning streak with victory over Cristo Rey

Foresthill extended the longest winning streak in Sacramento Metro this week by beating Cristo Rey, 67-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Foresthill's dynamic duo of Tommy Sawyer and Matt O'Brien proved tough for Cristo Rey to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sawyer threw for 294 yards and six touchdowns and O'Brien had 106 yards receiving. Connor McCann helped Foresthill's passing attack out by catching two balls for 66 yards.

Chance Stocking was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 121 yards on 10 carries as Woodland Christian defeated Steven Macias's team. Teammate Paul Vithayaveroj added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.

6-foot-2 quarterback Sawyer of the Wildfires is the league leader in passing yards this season with 684. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, the Cardinals' Carter Winn has rushed for 542 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kameron Arnold. The Woodland Christian star has 15 catches for 375 yards.

Two of the top units in Sacramento Metro will face off this week when Woodland Christian takes on Delta. Bruce Pielstick's team's offense has recorded 232 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Saints have permitted only 293 on the year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Delta takes on the Cardinals. As it stands, Mick Pettengill's team is in fifth, while Woodland Christian is in first.

Foresthill led the league in scoring this week after putting up 67 points on Cristo Rey. Sawyer ran for 56 yards in the win.
