Baseball Recap: Harlan Gets the Win

The Harlan Green Dragons earned a 7-3 win over the Breathitt County Bobcats on Saturday.

Luke Luttrell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chris Rouse, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Eli Freyer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Harlan now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Breathitt County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Harlan will square off against Betsy Layne at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Breathitt County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Breathitt County Bobcats duke it out with Clay County Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
