Basketball Recap: Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Takes a Loss

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 58-38 to the Wayne Blue Devils. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bears have suffered against the Blue Devils since January 9, 2018.

When it comes to explaining why Laurel-Concord-Coleridge lost, don't look at Rena Rasmussen. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. What's more, Rasmussen also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Carlie Kvols was another key player, putting up nine points.

Wayne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Haley Kramer, who put up ten points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Reagan McGuire, who earned nine points and three steals.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Wayne, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-7.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is taking a road trip to face off against Walthill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season. As for Wayne, they will head out to square off against Norfolk Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wayne is facing Norfolk Catholic at the right time seeing as Norfolk Catholic is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
