Baseball Recap: Luther Prep Comes Up Short

Luther Prep had lost five straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 3-6 to make it six. They came up short against the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves, falling 9-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Phoenix were not able to get on the board.

As for Living Word Lutheran, they now have a winning record of 5-4. The result was nothing new for the Timberwolves, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

For Living Word Lutheran's part, Luther Prep's batters probably weren't too happy with Easton Oliver, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (he gave up a single walk). Oliver has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Oliver, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Owen Sather was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Living Word Lutheran beat Luther Prep by a score of 13-1 later that day.
