Corona del Sol faced Casteel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Aztecs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Colts a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Aztecs have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brett Crossland tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Connor Long was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Ben Jacobus was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.

Corona del Sol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Casteel only posted an OBP of .250.

Corona del Sol's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Casteel, their loss dropped their record down to 22-10.
