Softball Recap: Salem Lions vs. New Albany Bulldogs
If Salem was feeling good fresh off their 16-2 takedown of Clarksville on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the New Albany Bulldogs by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.
Salem saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lila Blevins, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Kenadie Garloch was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Salem's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for New Albany, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season.
Salem will challenge Seymour at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New Albany, they will square off against Columbus East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
