Volleyball Game Preview: University City Centurions vs. Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders

The University City Centurions will challenge the Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. University City will be strutting in after a win while Mater Dei Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.

University City took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on O'Farrell Charter with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-11, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Mater Dei Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Otay Ranch on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mater Dei Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for University City, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

University City beat Mater Dei Catholic 3-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will University City repeat their success, or does Mater Dei Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
