For the second straight game, Nocona will face off against Windthorst. The Indians will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Nocona is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.

Nocona lost 9-1 to Windthorst on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

For Windthorst's part, Jalyn Benson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 14 Ks. Benson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Karissa Fillingim was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Charlee Wolf, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Windthorst kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in five consecutive games.

Windthorst's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-12. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Nocona, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Nocona hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Windthorst struggles in that department as they've averaged .390. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
