Football Recap: Halls Finds Playoff Glory Versus Knoxville Central + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Halls had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 victory over the Knoxville Central Bobcats. Winning may never get old, but the Red Devils sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Halls got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amari Lethgo out in front who threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. The Red Devils are undefeated when Lethgo posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 3-4 otherwise. Brody Rogers helped Lethgo out on the ground, picking up 116 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Halls' defense and their five sacks. Carson Pearce was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up four himself. Pearce is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season. Halls got some further help from Gavin Self: he picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles.

Despite the loss, Knoxville Central still got an impressive performance from Kaden Long, who rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 170 yards and one TD.

Halls' record is now 8-4. As for Knoxville Central, they moved to 10-3 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coming up, Halls is taking a road trip to square off against Sevier County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils' defense better be ready for this one: the Smoky Bears have averaged an impressive 39 points per game this season. Knoxville Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
