Football Recap: Holly Pond Comes Up Short on the Road Against Appalachian + How To Watch

Holly Pond had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 25-0 to the Appalachian Eagles. If the Broncos were looking for revenge after losing 28-18 to the Eagles when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Braden Gilliland was a one-man wrecking crew For Appalachian. as he rushed for 218 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Gilliland also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making six total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Coming up, Holly Pond is taking a road trip to take on Hanceville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Appalachian, they will welcome Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
