Volleyball Recap: Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Falls to Columbia City in First Game of Season

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Columbia City Eagles by a score of 3-2. If the Cadets were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran actually scored more points across those five sets (104-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 20-25, 17-25, 15-13.

Despite the defeat, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aaron Linder had four aces.

Columbia City pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Huntington North on the 26th. As for Columbia City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Heritage on the 26th.
