Baseball Recap: Meridian Yellowjackets vs. Oglesby Tigers
After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Meridian finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell 5-0 to the Oglesby Tigers. The shutout was out of character for Meridian seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.
For Oglesby's part, Hunter Walter made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Walter has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Walter was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
