Basketball Game Preview: Highland Park Giants vs. Warren Township Blue Devils

The Highland Park Giants and the Warren Township Blue Devils will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Highland Park is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 58 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against DePaul College Prep on Friday. They took a blow against the Rams, falling 62-20. The matchup marked the Giants' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Warren Township suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Friday. 2025 welcomed they with a 54-29 loss courtesy of Thornton Fractional North. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 430th, while the Meteors are ranked 135th).

Highland Park's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Warren Township, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
