Baron Hall commands the offense for Atomics win

Recap: Poplar Springs Atomics vs. Vernon Yellowjackets

The Poplar Springs Atomics can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They slipped by Vernon 50-49. The victory was just what Poplar Springs needed coming off of a 48-27 loss in their prior match.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Poplar Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Baron Hall, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of James Gilmore, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.

Poplar Springs' victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-17. As for Vernon, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

Poplar Springs will be playing at home against Ponce De Leon at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Vernon, they will head out on the road to take on Liberty County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
