Summertown has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Grundy County Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Summertown is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Tennessee (they are ranked 30th, while Grundy County is ranked 178th).
Last Saturday, Summertown came up short against Loretto and fell 59-50.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Emily Brazier, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Karlie Campbell, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Grundy County put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They put the hurt on Community with a sharp 63-39 win. The score was close at the half, but Grundy County pulled away in the second half with 41 points.
Grundy County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kallie Parson, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlee Smartt, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Summertown's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-6. As for Grundy County, their win bumped their record up to 17-9.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Summertown hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 59.2 points per game.
