Basketball Recap: Park Rapids Takes a Loss

Park Rapids lost against Detroit Lakes back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Park Rapids Panthers were beaten by the Detroit Lakes Lakers 106-69. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Park Rapids still got an impressive performance from Ryan Carroll, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. Carroll is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Landon Strasburg, who posted 11 points.

Even though they lost, Park Rapids smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.

Park Rapids' defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Detroit Lakes, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Park Rapids didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 85-60 victory against Wadena-Deer Creek on the 23rd. Detroit Lakes has also already played their next matchup (against Perham), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
