Fruita Monument entered their tilt with Palisade on Friday with seven consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Palisade Bulldogs 51-25. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fruita Monument's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hailee Wagner, who posted 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Olivia Campbell was another key player, going 7-for-13 on her way to 18 points.

Fruita Monument smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Palisade's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gracie Cooper, who had six points, and Lyla Lancaster, who scored five points and three steals. Lainey Simons also deserves some recognition as she pulled down her first boards of the season.

Fruita Monument pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points over those games. As for Palisade, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Fruita Monument will take on Montrose at 5:30 p.m. on February 21st. Montrose's defense has only allowed 28.4 points per game this season, so Fruita Monument's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Palisade, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-38 win against Coal Ridge on the 18th.
