Basketball Recap: Summit Atlas Takes a Loss

Summit Atlas won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They lost 54-32 to the Northwest Christian Wolverines.

Leading Northwest Christian to victory were Joseph Meier and Jack Vahey. Meier went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds, while Vahey dropped a double-double on 13 points and 22 boards. Those 22 boards gave Vahey a new career-high. Easton Payment was another key player, putting up five points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Summit Atlas has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Northwest Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Summit Atlas has already played their next matchup, a 98-37 defeat against Summit Classical Christian School on the 17th. As for Northwest Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-63 win against Northwest Yeshiva on the 18th.
