Volleyball Game Preview: Pecatonica Vikings vs. Argyle Orioles

The Pecatonica Vikings will head out to challenge the Argyle Orioles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Pecatonica is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Barneveld just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-17 in the first set.

While Pecatonica ultimately came up short, they really made Barneveld work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 26-24, 25-18, 23-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Argyle entered their tilt with Albany on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Comets 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Argyle took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-14, 25-13.

Pecatonica's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Argyle, their win bumped their record up to 22-1.

Pecatonica couldn't quite get it done against Argyle in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
