Baseball Recap: Mountain View's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mountain View had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over MMI Preparatory School. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jordan Jagger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. He has become a key player for Mountain View: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 4-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Mountain View let Josh Miller and Ziggy Bradford run wild. Miller went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Bradford got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Bradford is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Tweed, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Mountain View now has a winning record of 7-6. As for MMI Preparatory School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Mountain View will head out on the road to face off against Carbondale Area at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for MMI Preparatory School, they will be playing at home against Northwest Area at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday. MMI Preparatory School will need to watch out since the Rangers have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven matches.
