Basketball Game Preview: Unalakleet Wolfpack vs. Chevak Comets

Unalakleet has gone a perfect 4-0 against Chevak recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Unalakleet Wolfpack will jump right back in to play the Chevak Comets at 11:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Unalakleet heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Seward by a score of 32-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolfpack have suffered since February 13th.

Meanwhile, Chevak faced Glennallen in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Chevak took a 55-37 bruising from Glennallen.

Chevak's defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Unalakleet, they moved to 21-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Unalakleet didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Chevak in their previous matchup last Friday, but they still walked away with a 51-45 win. Will Unalakleet repeat their success, or does Chevak have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
