Softball Recap: Union City Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Union City dropped their record down to 11-6 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell 4-1 to the Dresden Lions. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lions this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-2 defeat two weeks ago.

As for Dresden, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-13. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.

For Dresden's part, Jacie West spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits.

On the hitting side, Dresden secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Summer Di Pietro, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Lions beat Union City by a score of 9-8 on Tuesday.
