Recap: Cheyenne-Eagle Butte vs. Todd County

After having lost a blowout to Dakota Valley in their previous game, Todd County were happy to find some success on Friday. Todd County took the match and then some with a 50-6 victory over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte. Todd County have a history of success against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, winning their last head-to-head 50-6.

Todd County's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 34 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 34-0 heading into the break. The Todd County defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 6 and all but finishing the contest.

Senior Josh Rowland, who caught passes for 111 yards and picked up 47 yards on the ground, was a major factor in Todd County's success. The matchup brought them to 2-1 and dropped Cheyenne-Eagle Butte to a mirror-image 1-2.

After their action against one another, the teams are leaving the conference to test themselves against outside opponents. Todd County will look to defend their home turf next week against Little Wound at 7:00 PM. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, they will face off against Sisseton.
