Softball Recap: South Oldham Wins Going Away Against Trimble County

South Oldham got themselves on the board against Trimble County on Monday, but Trimble County never followed suit. They blew past the Raiders 12-0. The victory continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won nine in a row.

The result came thanks to Hailey Fackler's shutout, as she gave up just five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addi Schrecker was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Lauren Young also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

South Oldham hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

South Oldham's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Trimble County, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-7.

Coming up, South Oldham will venture away from home to take on Jeffersonville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something the Dragons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Trimble County, they will face off against Owen County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
