Libertyville fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Warren Township on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Taylor Higham spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Libertyville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Callie Hill, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Libertyville's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Warren Township, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
