Softball Preview: Woodson Warriors vs. Jackson-Reed Tigers
Woodson is 0-10 against Jackson-Reed since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Woodson Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Jackson-Reed Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Woodson took care of business in their home opener back in March (barely). They came out on top in a nail-biter against Banneker and snuck past 9-8.
Meanwhile, Jackson-Reed waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Clerks with a sharp 19-5 win. Jackson-Reed might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Jackson-Reed let Evelyn Consolla and Alice Stillerman loose on the outfield. Consolla got on base in all four of her plate appearances with a home run, four stolen bases, and three runs, while Stillerman went 3-for-4 with a home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Kiley Hatcher was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
