Baseball Recap: Greenback Comes Up Short

Greenback has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.08 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 12-2 to the University School Buccaneers. The Cherokees haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Greenback saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Severance, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Greenback's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for University School, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-6.

While Greenback had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
