Soccer Game Preview: Heritage vs. Powell

The Heritage Mountaineers will face off against the Powell Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Heritage didn't have quite enough to beat Karns and fell 3-2. Heritage have struggled against Karns recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Joshua Tidwell wasn't going to let Karns walk away unscathed as he scored both of Heritage's goals, bringing his season total up to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Powell fell victim to Grace Christian Academy and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 5-0 to the Rams. While losing is never fun, Powell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Grace Christian Academy are ranked 25th).

Powell has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-4-2 record this season. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
