Softball Game Preview: Broadwater Academy Vikings vs. Fuqua Falcons

The Broadwater Academy Vikings will take on the Fuqua Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither Broadwater Academy nor Fuqua posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Broadwater Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Greenbrier Christian Academy just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Gators by a score of 2-0. Considering the last time the Vikings couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Broadwater Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miranda Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, it's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fuqua can now relate to. They lost 10-0 to the Vikings on Wednesday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Fuqua has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Broadwater Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-3.
