Basketball Recap: Sandwich Comes Up Short

Sandwich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 46-29 to the Ottawa Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Pirates are ranked 203rd).

Sandwich's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Ottawa, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandwich will challenge Harvard at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ottawa, they will welcome Kaneland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
